Discount brokers may be online brokers that will place trades as directed by an investor. For younger investors with less experience, an online broker may be recommended if the young investor feels more comfortable with being in charge of his or her own investment decisions. For younger investors that are less concerned with spending more for more services, and/or feels less comfortable with personally managing an account, then a full-service broker may be the optimal choice. Regardless, it will all boil down to the investor's personal needs and level of comfort.
