Give the Ugly Looking Investments a Second Look

The best investments, especially for value investors, are often the ones that look the ugliest at first glance. The reason is that most other investors won't look any further; individual investors because their research is often superficial, and money managers because it looks bad if they hold dogs. Opportunities tend to exist where others aren't looking, and so savvy investors often find bargains in companies that seem awful at first glance.
